Indications: All aspects of abdominal discomfort including fullness, distension, bloating, flatulence, acid reflux, heartburn and indigestion. The burning, cramping and pain associated with stomach ulcers will be relieved. Many of the above symptoms may be precipitated by apprehension, fear and nervousness, which are also relieved by this remedy. Use in conjunction with anti-spasm 200C for irritable bowel syndrome. Dose 5 mins apart.

All symptoms of indigestion brought on by apprehension and anticipatory anxiety e.g. belching, wind, nausea, vomiting, burning stomach pains. Craving for sweets / chocolates aggravates the symptoms - gnawing ulcer pains and gastritis. Patient may crave cold drinks. |
| Asafoetida |
Abdominal spasms causing regurgitation of liquids; great distention of stomach with excessive wind that cannot be expelled, followed by explosive belching with griping pains and flatulence. Patient may feel hungry, but has no appetite for food. |
| Calcarea carbinica |
Aversion to hot food, hot drinks, meat and fats; longs for cold drinks. Sour belching; cutting pain in upper abdomen with distension and indigestion; burning in stomach impacts on the throat. |
| Carbo vegetabilis |
Gastric distress felt within half an hour of eating due to adverse effects of alcohol, fatty foods, butter, eggs and salty food. Food ferments before it digests resulting in violent belching that is sour smelling. Abdominal heaviness and sleepiness; nausea in the morning; aversion to milk, meat and fatty foods; acidity in stomach especially while lying down. |

| Nux vomica |
General effects of overindulgence. Sour belching with nausea in the morning after eating; fullness and pain in stomach. Rancid heartburn; bruised soreness of abdominal walls; flatulent distension with painful abdominal spasms. Patient may crave rich foods, meat, gravy, fats and stimulants e.g. coffee, alcohol. |
| Robinia pseudacacia |
Hyperacidity with burning pains in stomach at night; frontal headache; vomiting of intensely sour fluid; great distension and heartburn; belching that burns with acidity; flatulence and painful abdominal spasms. |
Dosage: For severe abdominal symptoms, dose every half hour until relief is obtained then every 2 - 4 hours as required. Dose 3 times daily for more chronic complaints.
This remedy has been successfully used in conjunction with allopathic ulcer/ hyperacidity medication in that it reduces the length of treatment required.
