Indications: To treat typical symptoms of cystitis, especially with sudden onset. Symptoms include: frequent urge to urinate, burning sensation when urinating which often results in very little urine actually passing, pain in kidney and bladder area, discoloured urine.

| Berberis vulgaris |
Radiating pains in the kidney and bladder region; burning pain in the thighs and loins on urinating; the sensation of some urine left behind; urine may be thick with mucous and have a bright red, sandy or shiny sediment; urge to urinate frequently; the urethra may burn even when not urinating; renal colic or spasm. This remedy can cause the ureters to dilate allowing the passing of stones, which can dissolve in time. |

Intolerable and constant urge to urinate, where the urine is scanty with violent burning and cutting pain in the neck of the bladder; involuntary urination or dribbling after urination. |
| Causticum |
Burning in the urethra when urinating; urine dribbles; frequent urge to urinate with difficulty in passing urine; pain in bladder once a few drops pass. |
| Hedeoma pulegioides |
Pain along ureter, frequent urge to urinate with cutting pains, a dragging pain from the kidney to the bladder, a red sand-like appearance to urine and an inability to retain urine for more than a few minutes. |
| Kali bichromicum |
Burning in the urethra; the sensation that after urinating a drop seems to remain which cannot be expelled; ropy mucus in the urine; a sensation of heaviness in the kidneys. |
| Terebinthina |
Burning pain in the small of the back, over the kidneys, bleeding of mucous membranes of the kidney and bladder resulting in scanty, bloody urine. |
Dosage: At the earliest stage, suck 3-5 pillules in a clean mouth every half hour for 3 doses, thereafter every hour for 3 doses then every 4 hours until better. Should the condition worsen within 48 hours and especially if there is a fever or lower back pain seek medical advice.
